Indian summer, Diptych

2021

A name that often describes the warm, calm spell of weather that occurs in autumn. The beautiful time of harvest and lots of vibrant yellows, golden tints with pinches of pinks, blues, greens and reds – these colours evoke a sense of celebration at the end of the harvest season. The colour pallet with it's peacefulness promotes balance of energies and satisfaction.

Hay harvest

2021

Each season brings different things to the world around me that I like to make sure and paint as they roll across the calendar each year. The maturing wheat fields are a part of one of the cycles with beautiful scenes that I try to make sure I don’t miss. Standing at the edge of a large wheat field and looking out over all those plants swaying in the breeze is impressive. A wheat field on a breeze day can be hypnotic.

An emotional state, the quality of a calm experienced in places with mainly natural features and activities, free from disturbance from man-made areas.... A feeling that we have while looking at gentle colour fusion.Blue has tremendous power to manage stress. It's a very soothing colour that helps calm your mind.Green is a restful and quiet colour. Because it symbolizes nature, green is one of the most beautiful and comforting colours that attracts harmonious feelings that can diffuse anxiety and helps us stay calm and refreshed. Beige greens and pale yellow-greens are the most stress-reducing shades in the green family. Pink is another colour that promotes tranquillity and peace. Blossoms and snow

2021

Snow is not a common sight in the Netherlands – winter rarely falls below freezing and any snow that does fall melts long before it can pile up on the ground. This year, it has snowed, in February, and these days ware full of joy. Although spring temperatures have already climbed above 20ºCelsius, in April we saw a rare snowfall, which resulted in the unique occurrence of snow falling amongst delicate Blossoms. Unfortunately, this scene did not last for very long but it left stunning visual memories and it has been inspiration for many of us.

Magical forest

Sides are 3 cm thick and painted so framing is not necessary but could be added if you wish to. Finished with a glaze of UV varnish to protect against sunlight and dust damage. Ready to hang.

Dusk 2

2021

Nothing restores a soul more quickly, fully and magically than a winter sunset over the sea. That stunning splash of pink, orange and red dancing on high clouds and painting the water like fire is a warming promise and some healing remedy for what’s already been endured. It’s a gift to all of us. In this canvas it is my own special relationship with the setting sun. It brings me a sense of calm I find nowhere else. lets take the time to appreciate how special it is to partake of such an individual thing in a wide-open, public setting.

Frosty mornings

Blossoms at dusk. Diptych

2020

In this time of pandemic while the deadly virus delivers endless  sorrow and sadness, artists inspirations arrive from the most basic things.  Soft evening light or dusk sending the day away,  a period where resilience has been required for a successful outcome.  As a result of a peaceful moment a tranquil composition was born to restore the feelings and fill up the space with positive emotions.

Dark and light where many hidden colours are shining through thin layers of paint. Progression of black and white where black is not just black and white is not just white.
